Andrea's twitterive was well developed and just needed a few adjustments in arrangement and some more information about her grandmother since she was mentioned and appeared to be important to the story. Also, the class discussed the idea of developing the ending a little more, showing her son in the future, and her hope for him. As a group, we felt the story would come full circle if it began with the letter to her baby and ended the same way.
It was helpful for me to listen to questions and discussions regarding arrangement. Lia's twitterive gave us the chance to discuss arrangement in a different way since she is telling a story within a story. I liked the way she split the page in two, showing the past and present within the same frame. We discussed how she could leave some white space in order to guide the reader along. We also discussed ways in which she could embed the folktale of Menantico Colony within the narrative of her present story; through reading a newspaper article, and discussions between characters, in order to heighten the sense of fear.
During the workshop on Amanda D.'s site, our discussion focused on "place." There were two main themes in Amanda's twitterive; feeling like a child when being with Dakota and feeling happy because she sees life through Dakota's eyes. Amanda said that she wanted to show how she felt like a child again. Her prologue began by showing that she was sad about growing-up. The group helped her with some ideas to take the focus away from her happiness and show how she is childlike again with Dakota. Some of the ideas were to show side-by-side photos of Amanda at Dakota's age and to change the title of the "recipe" and some of the "ingredients" to take the focus away from Amanda being an authority figure to being at the same level as Dakota.
Aside from the workshop discussions, it was helpful to see the various technologies used in the project. Lia blogged on how to upload music for twitterive, Amanda created a video and Andrea had a running slide-show.
