About Me
Dear Visitor,
I could bore you by stating that I am a wife, a mother, a middle-aged co-ed, etc., etc. But, the truth is, you never really know someone until you know how they take their coffee. I'm not human until I've had my first cup of that life-giving liquid. I've heard of others who can actually function and never drink the stuff - I can't relate. I like plain old coffee. Maxwell House or Folgers will do, none of that fancy lattee or mocha stuff. I take it with a little coffeemate and no sugar. Once I've had my first cup, I feel alive and I'm ready to face the challenges of the day.
Returning to school after a twenty year reprieve has been a challenge. Some days, simply getting out of bed is a challenge. I have two teens who need constant attention and help, a husband who pretty much requires the same, and a house that's always in need of cleaning. Oh, and a dog, I almost forgot the dog, she likes to eat at least twice a day. With all these personal responsibilities, school can become an exhausting chore (this is where the coffee comes in). But once I get on campus, I feel the energy of the other students and it replenishes my enthusiasm. I am two semesters away from graduation and that is enough to keep me motivated. Two semesters, yay! This site will become part of my final portfolio for my Writing Arts degree.
I hope to build a site that has a mixture of thought provoking material, with a little humor, a little passion, a touch of sarcasm, and maybe a hint of Academia. Whatever it will be, I invite my readers to think about perspective when reading my work. We all have our own.
Sincerely,
Diane Seneca

Some personal stuff...
Einstein the Great!
I love physics and poetry, music and dancing, laughing with friends, and wine. Galileo, Einstein, Gandhi, and Peg Bundy are my heroes. I mean, who wouldn't want to be Peg Bundy?
If I could be anywhere in the world, I'd be on a beach with white sand and warm, blue water, drinking wine and reading a book. Rumi is my favorite poet, but I'm just as likely to bring a physics book by Brian Greene to the beach for some "light" reading.
I'm in awe of the minds of mathematicians and scientists in general. I'm amazed by quantum physics and astronomy. I love to think about the ideas of time, the birth of the universe, the death of stars, the "why" of existence. I like to try to wrap my brain around concepts that seem too big to comprehend. Yes, I'm a bit of a science geek. I actually had a long conversation with someone at a local bar on a Friday night about E=MC2. Who does that? I do.
On a lighter note, wine is also a great topic. I am dynamic, I can switch between existence and grapes.
